FIVE Kendal Air Cadets and one staff member have completed the 2018 RAF Cosford march after months of hard training.

The two day challenge saw the team walk 50 miles on roads around the RAF base, near Wolverhampton, in full military uniform, on the hottest weekend of the year.

The Kendal cadets were part of a team of 21 cadets and staff from Cumbria & Lancashire Wing.

Cadet Chris Hine, Cadet Corporal Owen Dryden, Cadet Warrant Officer Elizabeth Newton and staff member Sgt Amber Howarth will now form part of the 10 strong Cumbria and Lancashire Wing team that will travel out to Holland in July to attempt the gruelling 100 mile Nijmegen “Vierdaagse” Marches over four consecutive days.

Cadet Harry Ince and Cadet Corporal Louis Ostlere are too young to participate. Anyone interested can follow them on Facebook at ‘1127 Kendal Sqn, Royal Air Force Air Cadets’.
