BEETHAM CE Primary School is planning a timber-clad classroom in its grounds.
The village school is expecting a rise in the numbers of children aged seven to 11 from September 2018.
The new garden room, clad in Siberian larch, is being planned to provide extra classroom space.
Overall, numbers at the school will be similar to last year, according to the planning application lodged with South Lakeland District Council.
