A 67-YEAR-OLD man required urgent medical attention after going into cardiac arrest at Grizedale Forest on Sunday.
The man had been mountain biking on the North Face Trail and was discovered ill in a body of water. He received initial attention from medically trained passers-by before emergency services arrived.
Personnel from the North West Air Ambulance, North West Ambulance Service, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service and Coniston Mountain Rescue Team all attended.
The man was taken to Royal Preston Hospital by helicopter.
