A KENDAL school raised more than £1,400 at its summer fair.
Dean Gibson Primary School’s fair beat last Friday’s weather as rain in the morning threatened whether the fundraiser would go ahead.
The event featured entertainment from street dance group Dance Atikk and from the Kendal Sea Cadets as well as being supported by Cumbria Police. Children enjoyed exploring the police van and dressing up in police uniforms.
Traditional fair entertainment – including bouncy castles, a tombola, face painting and a coconut shy – was also offered.
Pupils from year six sold organic fruit and vegetables grown in the school’s garden at their own stall.
An array of cakes, baked by parents and friends of the school, were also sold. The event was organised by the school’s Parents, Teachers and Friends Association.
