THE Westmorland Gazette is celebrating its 200th anniversary this year and to mark the occasion we have been trawling back through out archives to find photographs that reflect life in this area over the years.
This week we reproduce three photographs featuring Grasmere Rushbearing in 1962, a shooting party at Witherslack in the same year and a group of dry-stone wallers at Greyhound Farm, Kendal.
Do you recognise anyone on these photographs? And can you tell us when the dry-stone walling photograph was taken? Send your information to andrew.thomas@nqnw.co.uk.
If you have any old photographs you would like to share with readers, please also send them to andrew.thomas@nqnw.co.uk with brief details about who you are and what the photograph shows.
It might be an old school photograph where you are struggling to name everyone or simply a picture that captures a certain time and place in years gone by that you feel other readers would be interested in.
