Kendal Swimming Club's entry at the Aquasphere Epic Coniston Lakes Swim takes on the masters category.

Guy Fitzgerald took the plunge in the Vet 40 Masters Category in ideal conditions with the water temperature comfortable and the surface a flat calm.

He quickly settled into his stroke pattern and mixed it with some highly competitive challengers.

Holding to the pace throughout he was a able to inject a final surge forward into the pressure zone and complete the one Mile circuit in a time of 34.30 and hit the finish pads in 5th place in his category which left him highly delighted with his results.

Emma Duxbury, Charlotte Stainer, Evie Sellers and Stuart McGurk were entered in the one mile category who all had to deal with a course Where conditions were sunny, with water temperature a cool 12 degrees and with a circuit with battleinto the wind as well as the challengers.

With a deep water start, Stainer was one who who soon got mixed up in the melee, getting dunked and kicked in the face.

Duxbury managed to get a good strong start and placed herself in a position where she could stay out of trouble. Sellers found herself in a similar group as Duxbury and all the way to the finish were both still in close contension.

Both McGurk and Fitzgerald took it on for the men and completed the course with some highly satisfy all round swimming. Settling into their stroke pattern they kept enough in reserve to help them through the difficult pressure zone.

Duxbury finished in 6th place in a time of 25:10.15 whilst Stainer worked hard to become 11th placed Female in a time of 27:05. 17.

Evie Sellers battled her way to the finish for 13th place and a time 27:13.91.
