Kendal Rugby Club return to league action on Saturday after a two week break as they welcome third placed Rossendale to Mint Bridge.

The Black and Ambers are currently tenth in the table and eleven points clear of the second relegation position which is occupied by Burnage while Kirkby Lonsdale remain bottom of the division with no points losing all ten of their games played so far this season.

Kendal’s last game saw them lose 29-24 at Northwich where the team battled back to gain a bonus point on a mixed performance against an opponent who are eighth in the table.

Injuries have been a factor this season, with a number of players missing however some are slowly making their way back, whilst the younger players such as Aaron Stephens have held their own and played well in the first team line up.

Kendal face a difficult run of fixtures break as they play three of the top ten teams over the next three weeks as they host third placed Rossendale on Saturday before travelling to play sixth placed Stockport the following weekend, and Kendal finish that run with a home game against league leaders Blackburn on Saturday 10th December.

Kendal close out 2022 on Saturday 17 December as they travel to play Burnage who are second from bottom in the division in what could potentially be an important game for both teams.

Rossendale go into Saturday’s game on an indifferent run after winning two out of their last four, whilst they only just defeated second from bottom Burnage 31-27.

Kendal have been an indifferent run of form they can take some positives from their performances in recent games, whilst their 18-17 home victory over Manchester showed that the team spirit remains strong against an opponent who are fifth in the division.
