A GYM is celebrating its two years in business with dozens of members joining since their opening.

The Transformation Rooms opened in Skywalk House, South Road, in Kirkby Stephen two years ago and has reached over 40 members.

To celebrate this milestone the fitness hub hosted a 12-hour workout for two charities.

There were 12 members of the studio that kept the workouts and Ski Erg going for the whole 12 hours.

They managed to achieve 77,502 meters to raise money for two local groups including Great North Air Ambulance (GNAA) and Kirkby Stephen Christmas Light Fund.

The Transformation Rooms owner Chris Hodder said: "I can’t believe I’m standing here now celebrating two years with our members, it feels like yesterday that we first opened our doors.

"We are so proud to have reached such an incredible milestone seeing as people said a PT wouldn't work in Kirkby Stephen.

"We can’t thank our community enough and we cannot wait for the next years to come."

The gym managed to raise £215 for the charities.

The owner said: "I wish it was more but it was a Wednesday daytime.”

As one of the very first people to join the gym, resident member Paul said: "Time flies when you are having fun.

"This gym has been a huge part of my life. It has made me fitter, happier, and has given me the most incredible friends. Here’s to many more burpees."

The Transformation Rooms offers small group personal training to a maximum of three people per group so they can still have that 1-1 aspect of personal training.

They also offer community events, mindset academy, nutrition advice and much more alongside personalised training plans to help people reach their goals.

The gym is going through an expansion planned for the end of June.
