A new wool festival is headed to Cumbria to celebrate the best in fibre, knitting, and crochet.

Cumbria Wool Gathering will take place on June 24/25 and promises to have something for everyone. 

Whether you’re into spinning, felting, weaving, or good old knitting, there are over 70 exhibitors covering a range of fibre crafts. Taking place at  J36 Rural Auction Centre in Crooklands, the festival is open from 10am until 4pm on each day.

A spokesman said: "Cumbrian Wool Gathering is a sister event to Bakewell Wool Gathering and Buxton Wool Gathering, successful wool festivals which have been running for several years. Cumbria will be our biggest event and we’re extremely excited to be expanding in this way."

Tickets are available at the door from 11am however can be prebooked online on the website. Tickets cost £10 for the day or £15 for the weekend.

Parking is at Westmorland Show Ground with a free shuttle bus service, and there's also shuttle buses running from Oxenholme station. Accessible parking is also available at the venue.
