A new bike repair shop is offering free services to customers this weekend.

CRM Cycle Worx in Sedbergh is offering a free Standard Worx service worth £50 to those who come in this Saturday (July 22).

The gesture is to celebrate the launch of the shop which opened on July 3. Located at Pedi-Care House on Howgill Lane, the workshop is in a unique location sandwiched between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.

Described on its website as a "sanctuary where passion, craftsmanship, and personalised service converge," the Worx offers tailored services, major and minor repairs as well as suspension work.

Founder & Director of CRM Cycle Worx Cailean Morgan worked in Giant in Kendal for two years before bringing his expertise to his very own workshop. 

The 24-year-old said: "Sedbergh is a great location for those with bikes between Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. There is another vintage bike shop in the area, however my area of expertise is in traditional as well as modern such as ebikes."

Cailean grew up in Cornwall which is a fantastic location for cyclists and says his mum was a big advocate or his interest in bikes. This has very much influenced the ethos of CRM, named after Cailean's initials, of bikes being more than just a means of transportation but an extension of the rider's personality. 

He added: "I want the shop to be a welcoming and friendly environment where people of all ages and genders can come in, have a coffee, and have a chat about what they need so I can offer a bespoke and personalised service.

"Whether its advising avid racers who are seeking peak performance, gnarly riders looking for reliable parts or people who just enjoy road cycling. I really want to take the time to understand what people's preferences are and what they need.

"Since we've opened, the Sedbergh community has been really supportive and offering the free Standard Worx service on Saturday is a chance for people to bring their bike in and to say hello."
