A SALON has been shortlisted as a finalist for the National Beauty Awards.

Medi-Spa in Kirkby Lonsdale entered the national competition for the Best New Salon and has been given the good news after being selected as one of the finalists.

The business, located on Market Street, opened in April 2022 offering everything to beauty, from anti-ageing treatments to skincare and advanced technology.

Owner of Medi-Spa Jodie Hegarty said: "We have been following the National Beauty Awards and stayed in the loop with them, and we have been made finalists, so we feel like it is great.

"We might not win but we already feel like winners because it is a big accomplishment considering that we are so young, so we feel like we are accomplishing loads.

"As a business, we are really proud of what we have done. Kirkby Lonsdale is a very small town so this is all just amazing."

Over the last year, the business has been 'successful' with over a thousand new clients through the door.

Ms Hegarty said: "We opened last year and didn't know what to expect, but it has been amazing - we are doing really well. We are all really proud of what we have done.

"We are supported by all the shops in Kirkby Lonsdale - most of the shop owners come to us.

"We offer a lot of services so we feel different and we hit a niche in the market because we are not just an average beauty salon.

"Medi-Spa is the only business in the competition representing Cumbria and Lancashire."

The team consists of five members, including Hayley, the senior therapist and skin specialist, Katie, the junior therapist, Lauren, the manager and senior therapist and Jodie, the salon owner.

National Beauty Show will take place in Liverpool.

The contest recognises and celebrates the beauty industry for its work and talent.
