MORE than 100 guests were up on the floor dancing all night after newlyweds walked down the aisle at their hometown church.

Victoria Georgia McGlennon, a senior contract manager, tied the knot to Aaron McGlennon, a senior CE&I engineer.

The couple, who both live in St Bees, first met in a bar in August 2016.

"We ended up talking for hours and spent the entire night giggling and laughing at one another. It felt like we'd known one another for a lifetime," said Victoria.

The pair got engaged on December 18 2021 at Walla Crag.

Victoria said: "He got on one knee and opened the box, he was that nervous though he couldn’t speak and I just burst out crying.

"We then got to the top and I told everyone within hearing distance that we had just got engaged."

The couple married at St Bees Priory - their hometown - on July 22 2023.

They had 92-day guests and 130 guests for the evening, with the reception at Irton Hall.

Victoria said their wedding day had 'many highlights.'

She said: "The weather was forecast for heavy rain. However, whilst we said our vows, the sun came beaming through the church window only on Aaron and me, and it felt very magical.

"Our first dance was to Something Just Like This, not your traditional first dance song, but we are not a traditional couple. The lyrics resonate with us both, and it feels like it was written about us. When the chorus beat dropped in, Aaron picked me up, and we had sparklers blow up in the background behind us - it was magical."

"One of our favourite parts was having a saxophone player in the evening. It felt so amazing when it was getting blasted out, accompanied by a great DJ. Everyone was up on the floor dancing all night."

Earlier this year, their dog Nellie was diagnosed suddenly with a rare autoimmune disease called Immune Mediated Haemolytic Anaemia, and the couple has been saving money to help with the dog expenses.

Victoria said: "We managed to get a night away in Low Wood Bay and stayed at the Winander club after we got married, but we came home the next day and spent our week off with Nellie, just the three of us, pottering around Eskdale and St Bees enjoying our time together."
