A talk taking place in Kendal will strive to showcase how climate change will affect the area in the near future.
'When Climate Change Makes People Move' will be a lecture delivered by Joe Human at Kendal Library on Saturday, October 7.
The discussion is part of Westmorland and Furness Council's 'Go Green at the Library' week.
Mr Human spent 20 years teaching humanities in Kenya, Papua New Guinea and England, 20 years working for Oxfam, and 15 as a Fairtrade campaigner.
Now involved with Sustainable Keswick, his efforts focus on telling the stories of people on the frontline of climate change.
Topics will include rising sea-levsl, hurricans and droughts, and how these force millions to migrate, before looking at how those same consequences can affect us all.
