A theatre group is making a long-anticipated return to the stage.

In 2019, Kendal Amateur Operatic Society (KAOS), brought a production of Hairspray to Kendal Town Hall.

This would be the last production they would perform before the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Established in 1913, only the World Wars and global pandemic have so far halted productions.

In 2022, the society took time out to re-evaluate, leading to the creation of a new society - KAOS Musical Theatre.

Now they are back with a novel adaptation of The Addams Family: A New Musical Comedy.

This charmingly odd production champions the extraordinary, with the peculiar Addams family’s loving and darkly humorous antics captivating audiences.

The dedicated team and gifted cast have laboured unceasingly, breathing new life into these iconic characters at the Kendal Town Hall.

Ticket holders can expect a 'spooky, kooky, and altogether ooky' experience, laden with laughs, shocks, and irresistible finger-snapping moments.

This new production of The Addams Family is laced with undertones of acceptance, diversity, and transformative power, offering an uplifting story that resonates with joy.

Each performance invites spectators into the Addams' haunting homestead as Gomez and Mortica grapple with raising their unusual children while entertaining a host of bizarre guests.

Beneath the cobwebs and peculiarities, audiences discover a heartening narrative about love, acceptance, and the importance of being true to yourself.

The show runs at 7.15pm nightly from October 31 to November 4, at Kendal Town Hall.

Tickets cost £18, or £15 for under 16s.
