A man was stabbed three times while waiting for his train at Windermere station.

The incident happened at around 3.15pm on Friday, November 24, with the man sitting in the waiting room when the attack occurred.

He was stabbed twice in the arm and once in the armpit, leaving him needing urgent hospital treatment, said police.

As a result of the investigation conducted by British Transport Police, a man and a woman have been arrested and they are continuing to assist officers in the investigation.
