A popular heritage site in the Lake District has reopened to the public for the season with a new display.
Townend, a farmhouse which uncovers the history of the Browne family, will now delight visitors with a 'Letters from London' collection.
This will reveal the experiences of Ben Browne during his time in the capital, offering insights into money worries, romances, nights out and work challenges.
The National Trust explained: "This rare series of letters offers a fascinating glimpse into the lives and social position of an ordinary farming family, the Brownes, who lived at Townend in Troutbeck Valley for more than 400 years."
The 17th-century building allows people to experience how the Browne family lived, with unparalleled access to the library providing access to 45 books that cannot be found anywhere else.
