THIS is the moment an online child protection team confronted a man who engaged in sexual conversations with a 'teenager'.

Members of the ‘365 Hunters’ Paedophile Hunters Group filmed Peter Davies outside his home in Dalton after he had engaged in sexual conversations with a decoy, who told him she was a 14-year-old girl.

The 46-year-old initially told the group that he didn’t know what app he had been speaking with the child on.

However, whilst wearing only a dressing gown and slippers outside his home address, Davies apologised for his actions and said he was ‘ashamed’ of himself.

In the video he conceded that he was DBS checked and that he worked in schools fitting catering equipment.

When asked by members of the group if he had asked the child for pictures of her in her school uniform, Davies said: “It was just pictures in general. I know it’s wrong.”

Later in the video, the group confronted Davies over other images and messages he had sent to the decoy.

There were messages that detailed Davies asking if the child had a boyfriend, if she could send sexual photographs, as well as messages inciting her to engage in sexual activity.

Davies had his head bowed for the entirety of the 36-minute video which has now been viewed over 29,000 times and circulated widely.

At South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on March 25, Davies pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual communications with a child and causing or inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity between March 5 – 18 in Barrow.

Speaking anonymously after pleading guilty to the offences, a member of the 365 Hunters group, said: “His interest in children was a massive concern to us.

“It’s a relief when they are exposed for what they are.”

He was given unconditional bail by magistrates and will be sentenced for the offences at Preston Crown Court on May 7.
