A community group in Ambleside are planning on using their Spring to clean up the Lake District.
Volunteers at the Ambleside Parish Centre held their first 'Spring of micro action' day on Thursday between 10am and noon.
Thanks to funding from the Cumbria Community Foundation, the group have been able to start the litter-picking initiative in and around Windermere.
As well as making an instant impact on the cleanliness of the area, the centre was hopeful that the action will help shape future efforts.
They said: "We will be recording all the litter found on the day.
"This is really important as it helps us to identify the source of the problem and stop litter entering our lakes in the first place."
