LOVEBIRDS who met at a pub enjoyed an 'emotional' wedding with their closest family members.

Stephanie Jones, a 39-year-old civil servant, tied the knot to Paul Jones, a 52-year-old tanker driver, in the Lake District.

The pair met at a local pub on a separate night out with friends and instantly realised they had a similar sense of humour.

Seven years ago they got engaged on holiday in the Costa del Sol in Spain.

Stephanie said: "It was such a massive surprise. Paul was convinced I knew but I did not have a clue."

They got married in Cragwood House in Windermere on March 27 with 11 guests.

The pair, from Ormskirk in Lancashire, started off the day with breakfast together and then separated to get ready.

The bride had a 'lovely' morning getting ready with her mum and the groom got ready with his dad and his best man - the couple's son Max.

Stephanie said the wedding day was 'the most perfect day'.

"We have spent a lot of time in the Lakes, my parents had a caravan for a while there so have spent many weekends there and more recently we have started bringing our little boy on camping trips. We just love it, the beautiful scenery was what made the decision for us," she said.

"Our ceremony was beautiful and very emotional with lots of happy tears. Following the ceremony we had photos and then when the rain stopped managed to get outside for lovely photos by the boathouse and on the jetty.

"We had afternoon tea and then an evening meal later on. It was so lovely to have our little boy be such a big and special part of our big day.

"I loved how our wonderful photographer Tiree let him help her and look at the photos as they were being taken and occasionally give directions. My dad's speech was wonderful and there was not a dry eye."

Their honeymoon is in August in Mexico but they have just returned from a few days in Paris as a mini-moon.

Stephanie and Paul would like to thank Hannah at Cragwood House, Tiree Dawson, Gemma Hair, Brackens of Bowness, Stephanie's mum and dad for their help and their son Max.
