The owners of a pub in Coniston are looking to the future after a successful first year behind the bar.
Husband and wife Cecil and Paola Jones took over the Ship Inn at Bowmanstead in April 2023, which was their first venture into running a pub.
Since then, the business has earned an excellence award from Robinson's Brewery, putting it in the top 10% of pubs in the national chain.

The pair said: "It’s been a rollercoaster but we love it - we're so happy we took a risk and went for it.
"Thank you to all staff old and new and, of course, the wonderful customers who keep the business going."
The couple are now hoping to build upon a positive first 12 months of pulling pints for the community.
"The new menu is going down a treat and the quality coming from the kitchen is insane and we couldn’t be prouder," they said.
"We are extremely proud of the refurb and we are working on the accommodation upstairs for the next project - what a year it’s been and here is to many more."
