SUMMER holidays are over at the Flared Nostril and with a distinct autumnal feeling in the air, it's time to get down to some serious picking.

More honorary memberships of the Nostril were extended to deserving candidates (see image) after attending the trotting races on the island of Menorca - the Nostril's motto is, of course - Seek And You Shall Find - and these chaps are experts.
Meanwhile, Doncaster's newly furbished track is unveiled in time for this weekend's St Leger and the Nostril hopes to venture to the Yorkshire track next month.
The Leger meeting card start today (Wednesday) with a bumper card, but there are some ticky contests.
Having witnessed OASIS WIND go close at York at the Ebor meeting, Paul Cole's charge is rated worth another chance in the Samsung £300,000 St Leger Two-Year-old Stakes. Cole has some crack juveniles and this colt is entered up in some crack juvenile races and the booking of Jeremy Spencer should see him go close.
The Nostril thinks TIGER DREAM will give a good account of himself for Kevin Ryan in the opening maiden (2.05). Very well bred - there will be a bit of Yorkshire pride at stake here for the Spigot Lodge handler against the likes of Hency Cecil and John Gosden's entries.
Michael Stoute's progressive RAVARINO will be a warm order for the last ra ce (5.30), but the stand-out form of the day must be RED GALA (Nostril Pick of Day) .
