LOCAL heroes British Sea Power brought this year's Kendal Calling to a spectacular finale.
The festival on the outskirts of Kendal has attracted 4,000 music fans who have enjoyed a musical melting pot of indie, rock, dance, urban, and much more.
But it was British Sea Power who stole the show, putting in the best, most euphoric set to a delighted home crowd this evening (Sunday).
Kendal schoolfriends Scott and Neil Wilkinson and Martin Noble, along with drummer Matthew Wood, pulled out all the stops to thrill the crowd, with Scott sporting morris-dancer style socks, and Noble even donning a superhero-style mask for the final song.
Highlights included 'Waving Flags', 'Blackout', and crowd favourite 'No Lucifer.'
It was a fitting end to what has been a magnificent - not to mention muddy - weekend celebrating local, national and international music.
