RESIDENTS of South Lakeland can discover how their waste is recycled following the printing of a new leaflet.
South Lakeland District Council has printed the leaflets, made from recycled paper, in response to questions from the public about how recyclable materials are processed.
There will be information on items such as paper, cardboard, glass, cans, clothing and green garden waste.
Margaret Blackstone, SLDC recycling officer, said: “Thousands of people in South Lakeland now recycle every day and we know there is a great deal of interest in how the various materials are processed.
“We have produced this leaflet in response to the numerous questions we are asked by people who are keen to find out what happens to the items they recycle.”
The leaflet is available from the reception desk at South Lakeland House, in Kendal, or from www.southlakeland.gov.uk.
