AN array of wild orchids will be on display at Beetham Nurseries, near Milnthorpe next weekend.
The Orchid Weekend will take place on January 24 and 25 with displays, talks by UK orchid nurseries and for the first time, a talk by an expert on growing hardy orchids in a British garden.
“Not all orchids require steamy hothouse conditions, and some can be grown on a sunny windowsill,” said Judith Elliot at Beetham Nurseries. “There are also approximately 25 different native species of hardy orchids, which are suitable for growing in our gardens in Cumbria and North Lancashire.”
The talks will take place at 11am and 2.15pm each day. Free admission.
