A TEENAGE mother assaulted police officers and her boyfriend during a one-month period of offending.

Katrina Swayne, 19, of 20 Anchorite Fields, Kendal, pleaded guilty to five charges of assault, one charge of using threatening behaviour and two charges of being drunk and disorderly at South Lakeland Magistrates this week.

Prosecuting, Lisa O’Laughlin told the court that during a string of offences committed in May and June, Swayne had threatened to cut her own throat in view of her boyfriend’s 6-year-old sister, and head butted the window of a police car after being refused hospital treatment because she was acting too aggressively.

Mitigating, Jackie Partington said the offences occurred while Swayne was drunk, and during a period of “domestic difficulties” when her child had been taken into care.

Swayne was ordered to complete 150 hours of community work, attend a rehabilitation course and pay £300 compensation.
