TRAIN passengers in Cumbria are to get a taste of a first class British breakfast.
Complimentary sausage, bacon, egg, potato rosti and grilled tomato will be served up to first class travellers on selected Virgin Trains as part of an extended trial to test the demand for the British tradition.
Customers can also choose to have a bacon, sausage or vegetarian sausage roll or fruit plate as well as toast and marmalade and drinks.
Passengers are already offered complimentary food during the week, but Virgin Trains want to encourage more people to trade up to first class at weekends.
The trial will be available on July 25 for those joining the 9.40am train from Glasgow Central to London Euston, with catering from Glasgow, Carlisle and Oxenholme, and the 10.30am train from Euston to Glasgow Central, including passengers joining at Lancaster, Oxenholme and Carlisle.
