A MOTORCYCLIST critically injured after he was involved in a collision in Carnforth is making good progress in hospital.
Geoffrey Sacksville-Wiggins, a retained fire-fighter from Hornby, was riding a Yamaha motorcycle along Kellet Road when he was in collision with a Mercedes on Sunday, June 14.
The 33-year-old remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital but is now making good progress.
His stepdaughter Nicola, 12, who was on the back of the bike with him managed to escape with bruises.
Geoffery’s wife Diane, 39, said: “I’m amazed at how well he’s doing. I wasn’t expecting this much so soon. He’s recognising us now. He turned over and put his arm round me and gave me a kiss the other day.
“It will take a while but I know we’ll get there. I know he’ll do it.”
She added: “I just wanted to say a big thank you to family and friends who are continuing to support us and a special thanks to Geoffrey’s best friend Matthew Wood, from Hornby, who has been absolutely fantastic. He has kept us all together and has been there from day one. He’s been a tower of strength.”
