TWO comedians will try their hand at one of Cumbria’s oldest traditional sports at next week’s Ambleside Sports.
Rory McGrath and Paddy McGuinness will head to the event, which celebrates its 200th anniversary next Thursday (July 30), as part of the second leg of their nationwide tour for Channel Five’s Rory & Paddy’s Greater British Adventure.
They travelled the length of the UK last year taking part in strange, but typically British, sporting events such as cheese rolling, pie eating, bog snorkelling and swamp soccer - and now the duo will have a go at Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling.
McGrath is probably best known for his panel appearances on BBC1's They Think It's All Over, while McGuinness starred alongside Peter Kay in Phoenix Nights and Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere.
Unicycling will also make its first appearance at this year’s event.
