VINTAGE motors will be on display in Grange next month at the annual Dales and Lakes Historic Vehicle Day.

Over 250 rare and classic cars, motor cycles and commercial vehicles have already signed up for the show on August 9.

Many vehicles will drive through Grange between 10.30-11.30am on their way to the showground at the Memorial Playing Fields.

2009 is the fourteenth anniversary of the event, which this year will raise money for a local charity CancerCare.

Cars on display will date from the 1920s to present day classics. Expect to see plenty of MGs and E-Type Jags alongside some surprise inclusions such as last year’s authentic New York cab.

As well as the vehicles, other attractions include birds of prey, a bouncy castle, crazy golf, steam traction engine rides, craft and auto jumble stalls, raffles and refreshments.

Lakeland Radio will be broadcasting live from the show between 12noon-4pm with a special edition of Lakeland's Got Talent - where anyone chosen by the DJ can entertain the crowd for charity.

Music will be provided by Mainline Jazz and Country and Western singers. The £3.50 entrance fee includes a free colour brochure. Children under 16 accompanied by an adult go for free.

The event at The Memorial Playing Fields, Grange, LA11 7AA , will be signposted on the day.
