POLICE used a stinger device to stop car thieves on the M6 at Killington yesterday.
Drivers of a blue Ford Escort, stolen in Egremont, failed to stop when signalled by officers at Junction 40 of the motorway.
Police pursued the car down the M6, bringing all other traffic to a stop near Killington Services so a tyre-popping stinger device could be deployed across the carriageway.
The occupants, a 21-year-old man and 23-year-old woman from Workington, were arrested.
