NOW the summer holidays are here the RSPB Leighton Moss nature reserve in Silverdale has lots of activities planned to keep little wildlife lovers entertained.
A flying insect safari and an opportunity to explore underwater life are on offer at family activity days on Thursday 6, 13 and 20 August. Tickets cost £3 or £2.50 for RSPB Wildlife Explorer members. Booking is essential.
Afternoon tweets sessions will bring out everyone’s creative side making butterfly feeding stations and dangly dragonflies. Activities will run from 1-4pm on Wednesday 5, 12 and 19 August. Cost is £2 or £1 for RSPB members.
The older kids aged between 8 and 16 can discover how to help wildlife and be green to earn points towards a Wildlife Action Award at the Summer Wildlife Warriors events, which will run on Tuesday 4, 11 and 18 August. Booking is essential and tickets cost £14 or £12 for RSPB members.
A series of summer evening guided walks looking for red deer and other wildlife will be held every Thursday evening in August between 6.30pm and 8.30pm. Adults cost £4.50 or £2 for RSPB members and families cost £9 or £4 for RSPB members.
