POLICE are continuing their investigations into a fatal accident on the A591 near Troutbeck Bridge.

A man believed to be a Polish national was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision yesterday (Friday) after his red Jaguar left the road at Ecclerigg at around 12.20am.

Six foreign nationals, who all work and live in the area, were arrested shortly after the incident on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Officers are appealing for information from anyone who saw the red Jaguar travelling from Windermere towards the Brockhole visitor centre at or near the time of the collision to contact them on 0845 33 00 247.
