A GENEROUS donation of £45,000 from rural businesses has helped the Ulverston Neighbourhood Policing Team buy a new police vehicle.
The Land Rover will be used by the team to patrol country areas such as Broughton-in-Furness and the Crake Valley.
The funding will secure the vehicle and its running costs for at least the next five years – at no extra cost to the taxpayer.
Sergeant Stuart Flett from Ulverston Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “We are very grateful for this generous contribution which will enhance the first class service that the team is committed to providing to the local community.
“The additional vehicle will ensure that our officers can patrol their large, rural ‘patches’ and engage with even more members of the public.”
