THE funeral of Roger Bernard Griffiths took place at St Cuthbert’s Church on Friday, February 26, when the congregation led by his widow Val and children Robert and Rachael, packed the church.
Many farmers and other customers of Willman Farm Supplies attended, as did representatives of village organisations which Roger had supported.
The service was conducted by the Rev. K Clapham, and the organist was Mr K. McGrath.
Cremation followed at the Lancaster and Morecambe Crematorium.
The parish council will hold a minute’s silence at the start of its meeting at the school on Tuesday, March 9, in memory of Roger, who had served on the council for more than 20 years, eight of them as chairman.
