FOUR hotels in Windermere were among those being recognised for the finest standards in comfort, cuisine, customer care and service in the latest RAC hotels award service.
Gilpin Lodge Country House Hotel, on Crook Road; Holbeck Ghyll Country House Hotel, on Holbeck Lane; Miller Howe Hotel, on Rayrigg Road; and The Samling, on Ambleside Road were all awarded with the RAC Gold Ribbon.
The Sharrow Bay Hotel on the shores of Lake Ullswater also received the top accolade following anonymous visits by expert RAC hotel inspectors.
