NAVY grog and hornpipes will be the order of the night as nautical supremecy is celebrated in Lancaster.
No, the Maritime Festival hasn't made an unseasonal return, a dinner dance in the Ashton Hall on October 21 will celebrate the 200th anniversary of Lord Nelson's magnificent victory at the Battle of Trafalgar.
And the night - on the exact anniversary of the battle - will also raise money for the Morecambe RNLI Home for the Hover' appeal and the Morecambe and Heysham Sea Cadet Corps.
The star turn of the night will be the hoisting of Nelson's famous England expects' signal, while a crew of 20 from Heysham High School will give a performance on their hornpipes.
There will be enough food to fill even a starving sailor's belly and dancing to the Free Reed Band.
Locals are also being encouraged to go along in fancy dress with a nautical theme - even French prisoners will be allowed in to the Ashton Hall.
Tickets, priced at £20 (£10 for under-16s), are available from the Tourist Information Centre, Castle Hill, Lancaster or by calling 01524-581595.
