LCWHA Premier DivisionMIGHTY Morecambe played some of their best hockey of the season as they thrashed Rossall 9-0 in the Lancashire Central Women's Hockey Association Premier Division.
The locals, who have been playing well all season, were outstanding from the start with Kerry Drinkwater the star.
She bagged five goals and got Morecambe out of the traps well with an early brace before Lou Winder made it 3-0.
Amanda Broadfield got the fourth before Drinkwater struck twice more to make it 6-0 at the interval.
Rossall tried to fight back after the break but Morecambe kept their shape and Verity Brogan made it seven before Broadfield got her second of the game to make it 8-0.
But it was fitting that Drinkwater had the final say as her fifth goal made the final score 9-0.
