SUCCESSFUL Crackenthorpe-based equine trainer and rider Clare Chappelhow showed her intentions for next year's British Eventing Championships, when she was the runaway winner of the Witton Castle horse trials Intermediate section J with Crackenthorpe Lady J, a nine-year-old mare, who was believed to be the smallest horse in the intermediate sections and the only one without time penalties across country.

Clare also went on to take second place in Intermediate section K, riding Crackenthorpe Jamboree.

Both horses are homebred and Clare commented afterwards: "What a fantastic way to finish the eventing season. Both horses are now qualified for the Intermediate Championships held at the 2006 British Eventing Festival at Gatcombe. If all goes to plan I will be heading there with Lady J, but maybe not Jamboree, as I promised my sister the ride in the Wembley/International Show qualifiers next year on him, and unfortunately the events clash with each other. I will also be looking at moving up a grade to advanced level with Lady J as, if she gains a few more points at this level, she will automatically upgrade to advanced. I must add a huge thank-you to those who support me behind the scenes and at the events. I find their support invaluable."
