WILDLIFE-friendly garden features such as bird tables, ponds or climbing plants could help a green-fingered Cumbrian clinch the first-ever Wildlife Garden of the Year competition.
Many gardens in the county are a haven for an array of wildlife including insects, birds, frogs, toads and newts and the Cumbria Wildlife Trust is calling on keen wildlife gardeners to enter the contest, which is being sponsored by the wildlife trusts and the Daily Telegraph.
Judges will be looking for an attractive and welcoming garden to both wildlife and people.
Entries need to be in by October 31 with regional finalists announced next May and the overall winner revealed in June.
