NEXT Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (July 19/20/21) South Lakeland's first lady of theatre, Judith Notley, takes to the Brewery Arts Centre stage as Bet, in John Godber's touching comedy, April in Paris.

Judith, well-known to audiences across the region for her outstanding performances in productions such as Wife of Kendal, Chekhov's Three Sisters and many more, teams-up with acclaimed Lancaster actor Steve Ashton, as Al, for Cat's Eye Theatre Company's debut tour.

Dates include The Gregson, Lancaster (Tuesday, July 17) The Institute, Kirkby Lonsdale (July 23); Jennings Theatre, Cockermouth, July 26/27; Windermere's Ladyholme Centre, August 28/29, plus further appearances the following month, including the Heron Theatre, Beetham, September 7/8.

n IN DEMAND organ recitalist, accompanist, teacher and lecturer, Ian Hare performs a programme of works by J.S.

Bach, Russell, Mendelssohn, Charles Stanford and Henry Smart in Sunday's Bach and Friends event at Rydal Church (8pm).

Ian is also a composer, specialising in choral and organ music, and has had several works performed and published in Britain and the USA.
