SCENE: The aftermath of the crash
A 91-YEAR-OLD Kendal man escaped serious injury when his car flipped on to its roof this afternoon.
Police and fire crews raced to the scene, on Dowker's Lane, at 12.20pm, where the man had hit the pavement curb in his Vauxhall Corsa causing the vehicle to overturn.
He suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
PC Lee Hill, of Kendal Police said: "It is an automatic car and it seems his foot slipped on the accelerator, the car clipped the curb and turned over."
