A COMMUNITY centre in Kendal hopes to bring people together with a new weekly meeting for residents.
The Beck Community Centre, on Esthwaite Avenue, Heron Hill, will host The Beck Exchange every Saturday between 10am and 12pm.
Free blood pressure tests will be offered when the group meets this weekend (February 19).
The Exchange meetings include free internet access, a book shop, table-top sales and activities such as scrabble.
Kendal town councillor Eddie Maughan, who runs the group once a month, said: “The Beck Exchange is a new venture created with the aim of bringing the community closer together. We hope this event will encourage people to come along, have a chat, and see all the activities on offer.”
