A WOMAN walking her two dogs off the coast at Arnside was rescued by hovercraft this afternoon.
Rising tides trapped the woman on a sandbank in Morecambe bay at around 2.30pm.
She used her mobile phone to alert the emergency services.
The Morecambe Bay rescue hovercraft and Arnside coastguards found the woman within 15 minutes and took her and her pets back to shore.
There were no injuries.
Kevin Jackson, RNLI Duty Launching Authority explains: "This incident emphasises the importance of encouraging the public to check tide times and how this may affect their walks before venturing out onto the tidal flats especially in the Morecambe Bay Arnside area."
