Former teacher is appointed Archdeacon

THE Rev Penny Driver has been appointed Archdeacon of Westmorland and Furness in the Diocese of Carlisle.
Ms Driver is currently the Archdeacon of Exeter, holds the brief for ministry development, and chairs the South West Ministry Training Course.
She has been in the Diocese of Exeter for five-and-a-half years.
Having trained and practised as a teacher, she moved to serve the church as a children’s and youth adviser, a diocesan director of ordinands, and as a priest in three rural parishes in North Yorkshire.
She will be licensed on January 10, 2012, at Holy Trinity Parish Church, Kendal.
