CUMBRIA Police have warned motorists not to leave valuables on show when parked after a handbag was stolen at Gummers How, Newby Bridge, yesterday.
A tourist parked in the isolated wooded area between 11am and 3pm and left her handbag in the footwell on the passenger seat in clear view of any passers-by.
The thief smashed the front passenger window and took the handbag at some time while it was parked.
Anybody who has seen or heard about a Debenhams handbag and a Radley purse, which both may have been discarded after the theft, should contact PC Kelly on 0845 3300247.
