THE Great North Air Ambulance’s Pride of Cumbria helicopter was scrambled to help an injured walker near Ambleside today.
A 56-year-old man from London fell at Low Pike at around 12.40pm, sustaining leg injuries.
The helicopter crew treated the injury and, with the help of Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team, carried him to be airlifted to hospital in Whitehaven in a stable condition.
