RESURFACING work on the A591 at Plumgarths Roundabout and Kendal Bypass is due to resume on Monday (April 16).

The work, which was suspended over the Easter holiday, will then enter its final phase.

Traffic restrictions, including diversions, will return on Sunday evening (April 15) and Cumbria County Council (CCC) is warning drivers to expect delays.

Work is expected to be completed on April 29.

A CCC spokesman said: "Diversions at Plumgarths Roundabout during the works will be similar to those for the previous works phase five, including no direct access from Kendal onto the A591 northbound (Windermere) without using alternative routes.

"Drivers are asked to be patient and take care whilst the works are being undertaken."
