HUNDREDS of visitors are expected in the Lyth Valley today as the 15th annual Damson Day takes place.
Low Farm at Crosthwaite is the setting for the Westmorland Damson Association event, which is being held between 10.30am and 4.30pm.
The day showcases the valley’s rich orchards and is an opportunity to taste and buy products made from the fruit.
Family fun, animals, live music and ‘blossom walks’ are also on offer.
The WDA holds the event as part of efforts to promote greater use of the fruit and to ensure the survival of the picturesque orchards.
