AN 18-year-old man was taken to hospital after collapsing in the Grisdale Valley today.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was contacted by police to assist the Durham man, who was complaining of back pain.
They located him in the area known as the ‘hole in the wall’, on Striding Edge, Helvellyn.
The team, assisted by the Great North Air Ambulance, took the man to the mountain rescue base before he was taken by ambulance to Penrith Hospital.
