A Kendal man is hoping that his modelling career will rocket and that his face will be well-known across the world.

Fashion-fanatic Ali Alnaamani has made it through to the final of the Face of Clubland competition after beating more than 80 other budding models.

He is down to the final eight and he is now asking the people in South Lakeland to get behind him and vote to help him secure the top modelling award.

Ali, who has also been an extra in Bollywood films and is to star in an advert about Euro 2012, says that after years of hard work he is close to fulfilling his dream.

Ali entered the compettion several months ago and has successfully made it through three stages - which included a public vote on the Face of Clubland website.

Whoever is crowned the face of club land will become the face of a national magazine and win a trip to Puerto Banus, Marbella, where they will shoot a modelling portfolio.

“All of my life I have been interested in fashion and design and I have worked hard to make a success of my modeling career – it is now all coming together for me,” says Ali.

“To win the Face of Clubland would make me very proud to be the first Cumbrian to achieve this, and will hopefully take me further in my career.”

The final on April 21 in London was cancelled but now it is up to the public to vote to crown the winner. To vote log onto www.faceofclubland.com
